We got online during our teenage (ish) years, and while we remember what our social lives were like before they were conducted in chat rooms and over AOL Instant Messenger, the Internet dramatically expanded how much of the world was available to us at precisely the age when we were starting to think about the world more expansively. The three of us belong to a particularly narrow generational band.
